Landscape Design ideas

Landscape design ideas is generally considered to be a subset of the larger field called landscape architecture.

Where landscape planning concerns itself with larger scale projects or the broadest overview of huge landscaping projects that take place over long durations of time, landscape design tends to focus more on smaller projects.

Landscape design projects are often individual contract jobs that make up portions of a larger landscape plan or smaller properties such as in this picture. This cottage originally had a front garden full of wild flowere and no lawn.

If you are really serious about garden design there are many quality colleges and evening classes where you can attand a full course or simply do evening classes. When I first saw that in a book, I couldn't believe how simple it really was.

In the UK you can check out the Inchbald School of Design, in association with the University of Wales, offers an MA course in Garden Design. The University of Greenwich offers a Master of Arts in Garden Design and also an MA in Garden History.

A number of part-time certificate and diploma courses are available at various private colleges in the UK, including Garden Design School and Merrist Wood College - both in Surrey - and Inchbald School of Design, London.
